Carmina Wood Design partnered with Liberty Affordable Housing on the rehabilitation of Olbiston Apartments on the former site of The Genesee Flats. In 1892, Genesee Flats opened as Utica’s largest and most lavish apartment building. In 1896, a massive fire destroyed The Genesee Flats completely, and The Olbiston, the existing structure today, was built in its place.
