Carmina Wood Design partnered with Liberty Affordable Housing on the award-winning rehabilitation of Olbiston Apartments on the former site of The Genesee Flats. In 1892, Genesee Flats opened as Utica’s largest and most lavish apartment building. In 1896, a massive fire destroyed The Genesee Flats completely, and The Olbiston, the existing structure today, was built in its place.
